What is technically different in this industry #

Deadlines come from outside. A change in legislation has a date that is not negotiable. That requires test automation capable of a full regression run in acceptable time.

Accessibility is mandatory, not optional. BITV 2.0 and EN 301 549 are a precondition for procurement. Accessibility testing therefore belongs in system testing, not in a follow-up project.

Form logic is the real complexity. The functional core lies in dependencies between fields, plausibility rules and special cases — that is where the defects appear, and that is where coverage has to sit.

GDPR inside the specialist system. Privacy-relevant functions and data flows are tested as a distinct test type.

What we have done here #

We worked on the tax software of a German state finance authority for several years: module development, specification and documentation of system tests, building automated tests, manual testing for legislative updates, form logic, accessibility and GDPR, and the creation of test cases, logs, reports, manuals and help texts — including support for the end-user helpdesk.

This website is built to WCAG 2.2 AA and has its own accessibility statement. Anyone offering accessibility testing should be able to show it on their own site.
